Prime Video's The Boys has received a new promo it the form of a Seven on 7 video with fictional news anchor Cameron Coleman. The clips gives audiences the latest on Vought's supes and teases things to come for new faces, like that of Soldier Boy.

Between segments, the promo clip features an ad showcasing Voughtland -- the company's Disneyland analog -- and a statue within it depicting Soldier Boy as the Crimson Countess provides vocals on an accompanying song. It isn't quite Jensen Ackles in action, but it does give audiences a good look at the superhero to come.

Ackles was announced to play Soldier Boy in August 2020. Details regarding his character are scarce. However, showrunner Eric Kripke previously teased that the superhero was an associate of Season 2 newcomer Stormfront. "[Soldier Boy] knew [Stormfront] when she was Liberty... He was like John Wayne [at Vought], and so as a result, we're writing the history of Vought and how all the characters weave in together. And yeah, now Liberty is definitely a part of that," Kripke said.

Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's The Boys comics present Soldier Boy as a member of the superhero group, Payback, which the recent promo clip also mentioned. The Soldier Boy serves as an analog of Marvel's Captain America, with superpowers including super-strength and super-speed. In the comics, Soldier Boy also carried a shield, both for defensive and offensive purposes.

Kripke previously explained that Payback was The Seven before the Vought team existed. The introduction of the team in the show will allow Season 3 of The Boys to explore the systemic issues behind Vought and the U.S. In an interview, the showrunner explained, "Through the history of the supes, we can tell a little bit about the history of America and how we ended up in the current fraught position that we're in. Soldier Boy gives us an opportunity to do that."

The Boys Season 3 wrapped filming in September. No release date has yet been announced, but it has been speculated that the show will likely premiere early next year. Little is known about the plot of Sesaon 3, but it will likely pick up where Season 2 left off-- with a new status quo established and the titular team of vigilantes disbanded. Vought continues its operations with Homelander leading The Seven and any quarrels between him and Starlight ended, thanks to Queen Maeve.
