The Season 1 finale of the animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical isn't the only episode considered canon to the universe of Prime Video's popular live-action series The Boys.

Back in early March, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed that the eighth and final episode of Diabolical Season 1, "One Plus One Equals Two," was indeed an in-continuity story. Shortly thereafter, Kripke tweeted that two more episodes of Diabolical were also canon to the world of The Boys: "Nubian vs Nubian" and "John and Sun-Hee."

During a WonderCon 2022 panel attended by CBR, Diabolical showrunner Simon Racioppa and supervising director Giancarlo Volpe confirmed this to be the case. The two seemed to briefly comment on the dubious nature of tweets, though nevertheless stated that Kripke's post was, in fact, accurate. Racioppa and Volpe had been asked if they would aim make one canon episode for each potential season of Diabolical, at which point they stated that there were actually three canon episodes already.

Written by Aisha Tyler and directed by Matthew Bordenave, "Nubian vs Nubian" is an anime-inspired episode centering on Maya (Somali Rose), the daughter of supes Nubian Prince (Don Cheadle) and Nubia (Tyler). Maya recruits her parents' old arch-nemesis, Groundhawk (John DiMaggio), in an effort to save their failing marriage.

Meanwhile, "John and Sun-Hee" is directed by Steve Ahn from a script by Andy Samberg. Inspired by Korean drama and horror, the episode follows John (Randall Duk Kim), a Vought International employee who steals a serum from the company in an attempt to cure his wife Sun-Hee's (Youn Yuh-jung) inoperable pancreatic cancer after discovering she has only days left to live.

Based on the comic book series of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Prime Video's The Boys currently has two seasons under its belt, with a third set to arrive early this coming June. In the meantime, Diabolical offers a collection of new stories inspired by the satirical superhero show, each featuring a different creative team and animated in a different style.
