The Boys animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical still has a lot more stories to tell.

During an interview with Collider, The Boys executive producer Seth Rogen remained hopeful about Diabolical's future, even revealing that some of the anthology series' episodes have already been conceptualized. "Actually, they bought some scripts for the next season, so we've been writing them," he said. "We're not 100% sure they will produce them, but if everything goes as planned, they will produce the scripts that we are writing right now."

In addition to co-creating the series with Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg, Rogen co-wrote The Boys Presents: Diabolical's first episode "Laser Baby's Day Out" and had a small role in "BFF" as a drug dealer whose Compound V vial is unwittingly stolen. His voice work extends to Prime Video's other comic book adaptation Invincible, with Rogen -- who also executive produces the cartoon -- revealing that he's "working on the next few seasons" of Invincible right now. Rogen even cameoed as himself multiple times on The Boys, being interviewed alongside Black Noir for their Vought-produced movie and paying to watch Crimson Countess' Season 3 sex cam show.

Endless Diabolical Possibilities

While most Diabolical episodes take place outside of The Boys' live-action timeline, Kripke affirmed that three of them, "Nubian vs Nubian," "John and Sun-Hee," and the season finale "One Plus One Equals Two" are canon. The cartoon's first season riffed on various animation styles ranging from Looney Tunes to Japanese anime but, according to Diabolical executive producer Simon Racioppa and episode director Giancarlo Volpe, a lot more parodies were thought up but never used. These included a "Pixar style" CGI episode, a Super Friends story and a live-action/animated hybrid with Disney musical elements.

Alongside Diabolical, Prime Video recently completed filming on The Boys' college-themed spinoff show Gen V. Previously titled The Boys Presents: Varsity, Gen V follows a team of metahumans at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting who learn to master their powers while getting into dark misadventures. According to Kripke, "some of the issues and storylines in Season 3 hand off to the first season in Varsity," and, in turn, Gen V will influence events in The Boys Season 4.

Promotional photos for The Boys Season 4 have teased the return of various metahuman characters like Soldier Boy and Black Noir, despite Homelander killing Noir in Season 3's finale. The show also released a first look at new characters Sage and Firecracker, both wearing their official superhero costumes.

No release date for The Boys Presents: Diabolical Season 2 has been announced yet.
