The Boys has released a deleted scene revealing what happened to the dollhouse Mother's Milk was fixated on completing in the series' second season.

Posted on social media, the scene shows M.M. (Laz Alonso) finally completing the dollhouse and blowing the dust off of its interior, keeping it in pristine condition. After placing the final pieces--three chairs around a dining room table--into the display set, he takes a moment to ponder and turn the lights off on the completed project. As another visitor of the The Boys' Season 2 hideout walks by, M.M. gifts him the dollhouse to present to the man's own daughter.

The deleted scenes is a somber one, reflecting M.M.'s frustration and fear of potentially never seeing his daughter again. Darick Robertson, co-creator of The Boys comic series, commented that the scene was "so in character for MM." In the Season 1 finale, M.M.'s family and Hughie's father were placed under the protection of the CIA after the series' protagonists became targeted by Vought and the Seven's supes. The Season 2 premiere saw him meticulously working on the dollhouse so that when he was reunited with his daughter, he could present it to her.

In that premiere, M.M. loses his patience and temper with Hughie (Jack Quaid), fearful that he may have compromised The Boys' safety by meeting up with Starlight (Erin Moriarty), a member of the Seven and the character's love interest. M.M. threatens Hughie, saying, "If you're the f---ing reason why I can't finish that Vermont country dollhouse, I will f---ing end you." He laments their situation, continuing, "I want to get home to my wife and my kid. That's it. If I still can."

The last line spoken weighs heavy on the context of the deleted scene. While the post does not reveal what episode the scene was set to be featured in, after M.M. and The Boys once again take on the mission of challenging Vought's corruption and its nefarious supes, the scene would imply that M.M. abandoned the thought of being able to see his daughter again after he became entangled in the mission and risked his life further. While M.M. has a close attachment and desire to be with his family, his motivations for despising Vought were plucked straight out of the comics and revolve around his father, albeit with some changes.

In both the comics and the series, Vought became a target for M.M. after his father, a lawyer, died at his typewriter while pursuing ways to make the company pay legally. While the exact reason is not specified in the series, the reason in the source material for pursuing these litigations was because M.M.'s mother was wrongfully exposed to Compound V while working at one of Vought's facilities, leading to birth defects with M.M. and his brother, who eventually died when he developed superpowers. Being that M.M. does not have his comic counterpart's condition, the series has yet to explore and change what may have impacted his and his father's motivations for taking on Vought, so much so that it nearly cost him his family which he cares deeply for.

The first two seasons of The Boys are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The series' third season will reportedly release near mid-2022.
