WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 4, "Nothing Like It In The World," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

As result of his terrible treatment of women and sexually assaulting Starlight, The Deep was kicked out of The Seven and sent to Sandusky, Ohio. While there, The Deep fell into something of a depression and was arrested at a waterpark. However, this turn of events caused him to meet Eagle the Archer and Carol, both of whom are members of the Church of the Collective.

The two are helping The Deep to regain his confidence and rejoin The Seven, and they've been at least partially successful. After a drug trip, The Deep came to accept his body, particularly his gills. Still, when he tried to intervene and help The Seven take down Billy Butcher and the Boys, he failed, and the other members of the Supe team mocked him. The latest episode of the The Boys chronicles The Deep's latest attempt to rehabilitate his image, and it involves getting married.

Throughout the latest episode of The Boys, titled "Nothing Like It In The World," several women are interviewed concerning their thoughts on love. Most of these interactions are quite humorous, with the women explaining some of the ridiculous things they've been through. However, the final woman interviewed is named Gianna, and she's extremely sexual, and says that she believes a great relationship means being willing to "do anything for your man."

The camera pulls back, revealing The Deep and Carol have been interviewing the episode's various talking heads. As Gianna leaves, The Deep declares that she's the one he wants to marry. Carol objects, saying that she isn't the right choice. Instead, Carol believes Cassandra, who appeared earlier in the episode talking about the Lovers of Valdaro is the right choice, is the right choice. The Deep retorts, "The one with the hair and the creepy skeletons hugging each other story?"

Carol explains that, while The Deep was told he got a choice, he doesn't really get to decide. She believes Cassandra is the better choice for rehabilitating his image so as to help him rejoin The Seven. This marriage is not, in fact, actually about what The Deep wants and his desires.

As The Deep gets deeper into the Church of the Collective, it's becoming more and more clear the organization is a cult using him for its own ends. There's no regard just for what he wants, and that could prove very destructive in the future. Plus, the fact The Deep is about to marry a person he decidedly doesn't like very much is a good sign that his road to rejoining The Seven isn't going to be a pleasant one.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. New episodes of Season 2 release Fridays on Amazon Prime Video.
