At the 1st Critics' Choice Super Awards on The CW -- a new awards show presented by the Critics Choice Association meant to highlight genre fiction in film and television -- Amazon Prime Video's The Boys took home the honor of Best Superhero Series.

Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's satirical comic book series of the same name, Prime Video's The Boys beat out five other nominees to win Best Superhero Series at the inaugural Critics' Choice Super Awards -- namely The CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow, DC Universe and HBO Max's Doom Patrol, The CW's The Flash, Netflix's Lucifer and Netflix's The Umbrella Academy. Additionally, The Boys' Antony Starr won Best Actor in a Superhero Series for his role as Homelander, while Aya Cash won Best Actress in a Superhero Series for her role as Stormfront.
