Actor Antony Starr was recognized as the Best TV Villain at the Critics' Choice Super Awards for his portrayal of Homelander in Season 2 of The Boys.

Starr beat fellow nominees Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Abbey Lee (Lovecraft Country), Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead), Sarah Paulson (Ratched) and Finn Wittrock (Ratched). It was the second win of the night for Starr, who also won Best TV Superhero Actor.

The Boys also competed for Best Superhero/Comic Book Series and Best Actress in a Superhero/Comic Book Series for Aya Cash and Best Actor in a Superhero/Comic Book Series for Karl Urban, for a total of five nominations.

The Boys was the second most nominated television series behind HBO's Lovecraft Country, which received the most television nominations with six nods overall. Additionally, The Boys swept all categories it was nominated in and won four out of the five nominations it received.

The inaugural Critics' Choice Super Awards were hosted by Kevin Smith and Dani Fernandez on Jan. 10 and celebrated series and films across the Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, Action and Animation genres. The awards ceremony aired on The CW and will be available to stream for free on The CW app and cwtv.com on Jan. 11.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Aya Cash as Stormfront. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
