The following contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3 finale, "The Instant White-Hot Wild."

The Boys star Antony Starr recently revealed Homelander's idea of a "happy ending" and it's as twisted as fans of the Prime Video superhero satire would expect.

Starr described what his character's ideal outcome would look like in an interview with Collider. "I think Homelander’s happy ending would be him annihilating everyone in the world and sitting there in a bloody wasteland on his own, with no one to mess with him," he said. "I don’t think there’s a redemption story for Homelander. I wouldn’t really wanna see that, to be honest. I don’t think there’s any intention of doing that either."

The actor also addressed Homelander's actual final fate, declining to speculate what the future holds in store for evil Superman pastiche. "As for his demise, I don’t know," Starr said. "Every time I try to pick out what might happen in the future, I’m wrong, so I’ve given up speculating. I’m just like, 'You know what? I’ll leave that for the writers and spare myself the embarrassment of being wrong, again and again and again.'"

In The Boys comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Homelander is killed in a bloody battle with his former ally Black Noir, who is unmasked as his psychotic clone. This isn't the case in the Prime Video series, which definitively establishes that the two characters aren't related several episodes before Homelander brutally murders Black Noir in the season finale, "The Instant White-Hot Wild."

Despite Black Noir's gruesome death, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke recently confirmed that a different version of the character will appear in Season 4. "It's definitely not the last we've seen of Black Noir as a hero," he said. "It's just that the guy who was inside [the Noir suit] in season 3, he's gone. But we have Nathan [Mitchell] playing a really interesting and hilarious character who wears the suit next season."

Kripke also offered an update on Soldier Boy and Queen Maeve, who were also seemingly taken off the board in the Season 3 finale. The showrunner confirmed that Maeve will definitely appear in the series again before it wraps up for good and said that he hopes Soldier Boy will return, too. Kripke added that the reason why Maeve was stripped of her powers in "The Instant White-Hot Wild" was to allow Starlight to grow by taking away her powerful protector.
