Antony Starr took home the Critics' Choice Award for Best TV Superhero Actor for his portrayal of Homelander in Season 2 of The Boys.

Starr took home the prize over fellow nominees Jon Cryer (Supergirl), Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Grant Gustin (The Flash), Cress Williams (Black Lightning) and his The Boys co-star Karl Urban. Starr was also nominated in the Best Villain in a Series category, while The Boys was recognized as one of the most-nominated series this year with five nominations overall.

In addition to Starr's nod, The Boys also competed for Best Superhero/Comic Book Series and Best Actress in a Superhero/Comic Book Series for Aya Cash.

The Boys was the second most nominated series, behind HBO's Lovecraft Country, which received the most television nominations with six total. Lovecraft County actor June Smollet took home the series' only win after being named Best Actress in a Horror Series for her portrayal of Letitia "Leti" Lewis.

Hosted by Kevin Smith and Dani Fernandez, the inaugural Critics' Choice Super Awards was held on Jan. 10 and celebrated series and films across the Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, Action and Animation genres. The awards ceremony aired on The CW and will be available to stream for free on The CW app and cwtv.com starting Jan. 11.
