WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett "Chapter 1: Stranger In a Strange Land," now available on Disney+.

In each Star Wars trilogy, there have been a few shocking deaths. Darth Vader chopping down Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope and Kylo Ren killing Han Solo in The Force Awakens stand out as two of the most memorable. However, the franchise's most brutal death still involves a Jedi and none other than Boba Fett. And now, that moment has been relived as The Book of Boba Fett expands on the former bounty hunter's criminal reign.

The throwback moment occurred in the opening scene of the episode when Boba's in a bacta tank healing, plagued by nightmares of old on Tatooine. And before Fennec Shand can wake him up for his daimyo duties on Mos Espa, he recalled Kamino's violent waves at the science facility, and his mind shot to the Geonosis arena from Attack of the Clones.

There, Boba looked on as Jango, his father, had Anakin and Senator Amidala taken captive as they tried to rescue Jango's main nemesis, Obi-Wan. It was meant to be a spectacle for the Separatists in the Petranaki Arena, but the scheduled execution of all three heroes was interrupted as Jedi Master Mace Windu brought his assault team in.

This was the first battle of the Clone Wars, with Jango protecting his boss, Count Dooku, during the skirmish. Jango killed Jedi Master Coleman Trebor, but as he entered the melee to take Windu out, he got run over by a stampeding reek. The reek then charged at Fett, with the bounty hunter getting distracted as he dispatched it with his gun. Jango was then rushed by Windu and began firing, but the Jedi deflected all his shots before slicing Jango's blaster and cutting his head off. Boba would then cradle his dad's helmet, mourning his death as the dust settled in what was the catalyst to him going down this dark path of violence and retribution.

Unfortunately, Jango had already immersed his kid in a life of war, pushing him towards hating Jedi. And the sad thing is, in those days, the Jedi was a military force that didn't take prisoners when their Order was threatened. Still, Windu's unflinching actions, while in the name of justice, could be seen as excessive force, as he could have disarmed Jango and taken him prisoner. Instead, the unforgiving murder scarred Boba, leaving a traumatic impression that he couldn't shake, even decades later.

See how Boba has been scarred by his dad's death in The Book of Boba Fett's premiere, now streaming on Disney+.
