After literal years of anticipation, 20th Century Studios finally shared the first official trailer for The Bob's Burgers Movie.

Premiered during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on ESPN, the one-and-a-half-minute-long clip opens innocently enough like any fast food commercial, with a flame-broiled burger being tossed in the air as the narrator asks, "Are you hungry for something good?"

Following a series of close-up shots of burger toppings, the video then cuts to footage of Linda Belcher wearing a bikini atop Gene's burger suit and promoting "Fresh hot burgers. Sexy burgers" in front of the entrance to Wonder Wharf. The rest of the clip shows the summertime misadventures of the Belcher family, including Tina riding a horse, Louise leading her siblings on a sketchy outing and the arrival of a spaceship full of aliens.

The trailer was accompanied on YouTube by an official synopsis that reads,

"The Bob's Burgers Movie is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy-winning series. The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob's Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong."

Created by Loren Bouchard, Bob's Burgers premiered on Fox back in early 2011, with Season 12 airing now. The series follows the titular chef Bob Belcher (H. Jon Benjamin), who struggles daily to run a burger restaurant under his apartment along with his wife Linda and their three children: Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal).

It was first reported in 2017 that a feature-length film based on the animated sitcom was in development with Bouchard at the helm. While 20th Century Studios decided to remove the Bob's Burgers film from its theatrical release slate after being acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 2019, the company eventually decided to re-add the film to its schedule. The film was removed from the release schedule for the second time in 2021, but was recently confirmed to open in theaters over Memorial Day weekend 2022.

The Bob's Burgers Movie features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis and David Wain. The film hits theaters on May 27.
