To open up the cheats panel in The Sims 4, simply press Ctrl + Shift + C and then type out the code. Some cheats require Simmers to press Shift and click whatever they're looking to alter with your cheat. With these ones, budding cheaters just need to type "testingCheats [true/false]" into the cheats panel.

10 Move Objects For The Architects

Players should type "bb.moveobjects" into the cheats panel to unleash their inner interior designer and architect. This cheat allows builders to ignore the usual placement rules in Build Mode. This means players can even overlap and combine objects if they so please. This cheat makes finished Sim homes look a little more natural and can help to build realism throughout the gameplay. For example, windows and gardens can be a pain to use properly when abiding by placement rules.

9 Modify in Create A Sim (CAS)

If players want to alter a Sim's appearance while in-game, they need to utilize the Modify in CAS cheat. This is a Shift + click cheat, so Simmers will need to select the Sim they want to change. This one is great if the children of two Sims grow up looking rather unusual or just are not to the player's taste.

Simmers should bear in mind, however, that they may be able to edit any and all of the way a Sim looks, but they won't be able to change Sims' names or traits.

8 Add To Or Remove From Family As Players Wish

Sims 4

Sometimes it's easier for players to just add a Sim to their household, especially if they're pursuing a romantic relationship. Rather than waiting for the speech bubble option to ask them to move in to finally appear, they can just Shift + click the Sim they want to add to the family. This is another Shift + click cheat, so remember to set "testingCheats [true]" for it to work. It works both ways as well, so if Simmers just can't stand a certain Sim being in their household anymore, they can just Shift + click them away.

7 Fill All Commodities To Fix Needs

Looking after Sims' needs can be super demanding, especially if players have a full household and are trying to complete an aspiration or challenge. To completely fill up all the needs bar for all Sims in a household, type "sims.fill_all_commodities" into the cheats console. For all Simmers, there's truly no better feeling than seeing bars of green across the board, as opposed to lines of red and desperately miserable Sims which require constant care around the clock.

6 Max Out All Skills (But Definitely Handiness)

This cheat is especially helpful if players are dealing with busy Sims who just don't have the time to max out a certain skill. It's especially important to get a high Handiness skill to prevent unfortunate electrocution and lets Sims save on Simoleans instead of getting someone in to repair a busted toilet.

Simply type "stats.set_skill_level Major_ [the skill players are looking to max out]" into the cheats console to get the desired result.

5 Enable Free Build To Eliminate Restrictions

the sims 3 let players explore an open world without loading screens

This Sims cheat allows players to edit lots that they wouldn't usually be able to build on. Type "bb.enablefreebuild" into the cheats panel and hit Enter. From here, anything can be added to the lot, so long as builders keep to the requirements and remaining restrictions. If a Simmer has the Get To Work and Discover University expansion packs, this cheat is valid for all career and dorm buildings too. Players can let their creativity run wild, changing a Sim's workplace to suit needs, or their student Sim's dorm to match their style.

4 Free Real Estate?

While shopping for a house, if Simmers type "freerealestate on" into the cheats panel, all obtainable lots will be available to purchase for absolutely nothing, not a single Simoleon. This is particularly great if Simmers are looking to purchase some of the most expensive lots on the map, like the colonial-style Oakenstead in Willow Creek. Alternatively, players can import their favorite fan-built mansions from the online gallery and place them in their world, and own them for free (apart from the hefty utility bills).

3 Modify Relationship To Play Cupid

Two sims cuddling up before they wake up

This nifty cheat can be a bit of a long one to type out, but it's entirely worth it. To modify two Sim's relationship with each other, players need to type: "modifyrelationship [simfirstname lastname targetsimfirstname lastname 100]" and either "LTR_Friendship_Main" or "LTR_Romance_Main," depending on what they're hoping to achieve.

The two Sims will become Best Friends, or Soulmates if they have a high friendship level as well. Alternatively, if players want to spice things up they can switch the 100 for -100 to drain their romance bar all the way into the dreaded red.

2 Death Toggle To Play God

Ghost Sims in a haunted house

By typing "death.toggle" into the cheats panel, players have the power to play God in their Sims game. By adding "false" at the end, death is disabled and no Sims can die. Simmers should remember though, they'll need to apply this cheat each time they play to successfully dodge death. Ultimately, if players want to go back to killing Sims senselessly, whether that's a not-so-accidental drowning or long-winded starvation while in a room without a door, they can just add "true" at the end of the cheat.

1 Motherlode To Get That Dolla

The "motherlode" cheat truly is a savior in any The Sims playthrough. It does exactly what it says on the tin and rewards Simmers with 50,000 Simoleons. Players can smash Enter as many times as they like, watching their household funds soar. With this money, infinite possibilities open up: building a dream home, buying the seemingly unobtainable, and letting those money worries become a thing of the past.
