It's looking as thought marital bliss is turning into monster strife in the latest "Battleworld" series tied to Marvel Comics "Secret Wars" event.

HitFix has the news that the latest series connected to the 2014 mega event is "Mrs. Deadpool And The Howling Commandos" from writer Gerry Duggan (no artist is named, but the cover to issue #1 is by Reilly Brown). The series follows up on recent events in Duggan's "Deadpool" ongoing that saw the 'Merc with a Mouth marry monster queen Shiklah. However, on the amalgamated Battleworld of "Secret Wars," Shiklah is all on her own.

"It's very much [a Shiklah story,]" Duggan told the website. "I'm looking forward to exploring what she does when the chips are down. But she's only half of this equation. "Mrs. Deadpool and the Howling Commandos" will be butting heads not just with each other but with Dracula and some other monsters!"

And while Deadpool will appear in "an unexpected way," the series will have a much bigger focus on the monster version of Marvel's Howling Commandos brand name. "The roster is Jack Russell as Werewolf by Night, the Living Mummy, and Frankenstein - who has been fun to write. He's a dumb guy but he seems to have some deep wisdom. And then I'm bringing back a character called Marcus the Unbeatable Centaur. He has no weakness other than that he's diabetic. He has a really fun part in this particular story as well."
