The Batman: Vincent D'Onofrio Denies Casting Report

Although there was some speculation that Daredevil actor Vincent D'Onofrio would be joining The Batman, the actor has since shut down those rumors.

"Very cool. Yet not even the tiniest bit of truth to this," D'Onofrio responded to a post implying his inclusion in the film after he tweeted to director Matt Reeves. "I was just saying hello to @mattreevesLA because I like him as a director."

The article in question posited that D'Onofrio could play a villain in the film, while others have guessed he might portray Detective Harvey Bullock. A villain for The Batman has yet to be confirmed, but it has been reported that Jonah Hill may play a character from Batman's rogues gallery despite some ongoing disputes over pay.

D'Onofrio is well-known for his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin on Netflix's Daredevil TV series. He is a veteran actor who has appeared in such films as Full Metal Jacket, Men in Black and Jurassic World. He even recently directed and co-wrote a film titled The Kid, which released this past March.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. Casting is still underway, with the film scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
