The Batman star Robert Pattinson recently shared his opinion on why the film's production shutdown wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Pattinson first teased that filming was going well before production was shut down."But, again, it’s a hard movie," the actor told CinemaBlend. "I mean, obviously it’s Batman, so it’s kind of nice. I basically went straight from Chris [Nolan’s] movie into that. And, yeah, I was feeling a little bit loopy anyway. So having some time off is not the worst thing in the world."

It was recently announced that The Batman, as well as several other films, could restart filming in the United Kingdom. However, an official production start date hasn't been announced. Meanwhile, the film was put on hold back in March because of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which caused many of Hollywood's film productions to pause.

The Batman will star Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman as he maneuvers through the character's early years as a hero. Additionally, several characters from Batman lore will appear in the film, including Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Carmine Falcone and Alfred Pennyworth.

Details about The Batman's plot have been sparse, though several of its stars have teased small details, including Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), who said the film is Batman's "next evolution."
