Robert Pattinson reached into the back of Bruce Wayne's closet during his screen test for The Batman.

In an interview with Eiga that was translated via Reddit, Pattinson revealed that when it came time to suit up in front of cameras for the first time, he put on George Clooney's Batman & Robin costume. Though the actor admits that Clooney's cowl looks cool, he says wearing it was an uncomfortable experience. "It feels like a nightmare. I can't move. I was sweating all the time, and I was scared that I couldn't do anything with this."

Luckily for Pattinson, he felt much better once he got put into his actual costume. The actor explained that his incarnation of the Dark Knight wears a suit that's "not only very cool," but also incredibly maneuverable. "Even if I play a fight scene with a lot of movement, I can move anyway," he said. In the past, Pattinson has called the process of donning Batman's cape and cowl for the first time a transformative experience. "Once you've got it on, it's like, 'Yeah I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.'"

Though Pattinson seems to be a fan of The Batman's costume department, some have questioned Paul Dano's fashion choices for the film. For Matt Reeves' gritty vision of Gotham City and the people who live there, the Riddler will be wearing a full facemask, glasses and an olive coat with a question mark painted onto its breast. While appearing in-line with Riddler's mysterious presence in The Batman, it is certainly a change from the neon-infused ensemble that the character wore when he appeared in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever. While many debated the Riddler's wardrobe on social media, one fan went so far as to remake The Batman's trailer with Jim Carrey's performance in place of Dano's.

Whatever he's wearing, Pattinson's caped crusader will have a lengthy on-screen presence. The Batman's official runtime has the film clocking in at two hours and 55 minutes, the longest of any Batman movie to date. Furthermore, Bruce Wayne's fight to defend Gotham City has earned The Batman a PG-13 rating for "strong, violent and disturbing content," causing a conversation amongst fans over the limitations of the current motion picture content rating system. However, sources close to The Batman's production claim that since the film doesn't have excessive foul language or nudity, it could secure Warner Bros. Pictures' desired PG-13 rating, making the movie more accessible to a broader audience.

The Batman hits theaters on March 4.
