The highly anticipated theatrical debut of director Matt Reeves' The Batman is close at hand, and to promote the new film, the Caped Crusader has teamed up with an unlikely partner: Oreo.A promotional video posted on Twitter sees several pieces of The Batman iconography, including the Batmobile, Bat-Signal, the Riddler's question mark logo and the Dark Knight himself -- all recreated with Oreos. It encourages consumers to purchase their own packs of the limited-edition Batman cookies "for a chance to win," but doesn't explain what the potential prizes actually are in the promo.RELATED: The Batman: Those Joker Theories Have Been Disproven - For Now

The collaboration with Oreo is only one example of the many merchandising efforts that are promoting The Batman. Two new action figures by McFarlane Toys that capture the gritty nature of Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne are now available for pre-order, and a dozen different Funko Pops! that feature many of the movie's characters -- like Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin and Zoë Kravitz's Selina Kyle/Catwoman -- were recently leaked online.

Superhero fans are also getting involved in creating material in anticipation of the upcoming movie. Notably, one fan created a video that pieces together the intense chase scene between Batman and Penguin using all the relevant trailer footage of the sequence available at the time. While some shots still appear to be missing, the fan-made edit overall gives Batman fanatics a taste of what they might witness on the big screen.

Serving as a reboot of the Batman film franchise, Reeves' The Batman takes place during the crimefighter's second year of being a vigilante. The story will see the Dark Knight battle Gotham City's corruption, while also hunting down Paul Dano's The Riddler, a sadistic serial killer who targets the wealthy and powerful.

Beyond Pattinson, Farrell, Kravitz and Dano, The Batman stars Jeffery Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Reeves is joined on the creative team by musical composer Michael Giacchino (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), cinematographer Greig Fraser (Dune), co-writer Peter Craig (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, Part 2) and editor William Hoy (War for the Planet of the Apes). The film was recently given a PG-13 rating despite intense action sequences.

The Batman is expected to premiere in theaters on March 4, though rumors have spread that the debut may be delayed again due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar stated in response, "We’re certainly paying attention to everything going on with Omicron. We feel good about the date right now. We’re gonna watch it day by day."
