The Batman director Matt Reeves celebrated Zoe Kravitz joining the cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman by posting a GIF featuring the actor.

The GIF simply features Kravitz saying "Hello" into a phone. Nevertheless, Reeves is likely happy to have Kravitz joining the cast, as it was said she was who he initially wanted for the role.

This will be the second time Kravtiz has played Catwoman, as she provided the voice for the character in 2017's The LEGO Batman Movie. She also appeared as Angel Salvadore 2011's X-Men: First Class and voiced Mary Jane Watson in 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Kravitz will join the likes of Halle Berry, Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Michelle Pfeiffer, Camren Bicondova and Anne Hathaway, who all played live-action versions of Catwoman.

Rumors of who would portray Selina Kyle in The Batman had been circling for quite some time, with Tessa Thompson, Lupita Nyong’o and Vaneesa Kirby all rumored to have been considered for the role.

Jonah Hill is another name recently attached to The Batman, though it's been reported there have been disputes over pay and questions over which character Hill will portray.
