Director Matt Reeves has finally confirmed Colin Farrell will portray Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, in The Batman.Reeves shared a GIF of Farrell on Twitter with the caption, "Wait — is that you, #Oz ?" with the #Oz hashtag referring to the shorthand of Penguin's first name. The GIF shows Farrell shrugging his shoulders.
Production on The Batman began a few weeks ago, and set photos have already started making their way online. Photos of a figure that resembles Farrell were shared on social media earlier today, and feature a person in a black coat, with an umbrella in hand and blonde hair, possibly giving us Farrell in costume as Oswald Cobblepot.
Farrell was reported to be in talks for the Penguin role in The Batman back in November, though he was said to be in negotiations at the time. However, with production now underway, Reeves has taken it upon himself to confirm Farrell's casting, just as he has with other members of the star-studded cast.
