The teaser trailer for Warner Bros.' The Batman has been lovingly recreated in LEGO form.

The new stop-motion animation is a shot-for-shot remake of the teaser, down to every detail. The recreation includes the most memorable moments from the initial teaser, from the Batmobile’s appearance to Batman’s violent encounter with a group of thugs.

Animated by a team of 13, "THE BATMAN Teaser Trailer in LEGO (4K)" has amassed overwhelmingly positive comments praising the high quality and even comparing it favorably to the original trailer. In the description of the video, uploader Jeremy Borcher noted production on the remake began the day the initial trailer released in August and that it took over two months to create.

The remake was acknowledged by The Batman co-screenwriter Mattson Tomlin, though this isn't the first time Borcher’s LEGO recreations have been recognized by the people involved with the original product. His LEGO remake of the initial Mandalorian teaser was retweeted by series star Pedro Pascal, and a montage featuring recreations of different scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi received positive responses from franchise veteran Mark Hamill and director Rian Johnson. Surprisingly though, this is not the first LEGO remake of The Batman teaser trailer; following DC FanDome, animator Forrest Whaley posted a LEGO recreation of Batman’s aforementioned confrontation with the thugs.

The Batman has run into several production issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While shooting resumed in September after a six-month delay, it was suspended again after only three days when star Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19. Filming began again after a two-week quarantine for the cast and crew, but the film’s release was pushed from October 2021 into 2022. Colin Farrell, who plays Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, revealed principal photography is expected to wrap in February 2021.

Directed by Matt Reeves and written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson. The film arrives in theaters March 4, 2022.
