One of LEGO's official tie-in products for director Matt Reeves' upcoming DC movie The Batman features a motorcycle chase between Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) and the Caped Crusader himself, Bruce Wayne/Batman (Robert Pattinson), as teased in early set photos.
The Batman & Selina Kyle Motorcycle Pursuit set is currently available for pre-order on LEGO's official website, with a price tag of $14.99 USD and an expected ship date of Nov. 1. The box art sees Selina attempting to make an escape via motorcycle, with Batman giving chase. The set itself includes two minifigures, two motorcycles, a Batarang, a grappling gun, a chain, a "gem element" and a glow-in-the-dark Bat-Signal.
In addition to hinting at a similar chase scene taking place in The Batman itself, this LEGO set can actually tell us a bit more about the film. For starters, Kravitz's character is only ever referred to as Selina Kyle, which would imply that she won't be adopting the Catwoman codename just yet. What's more, the fact that The Batman's various LEGO sets exist at all would imply that, contrary to fan speculation, the film will be rated PG-13, not R, as LEGO has long had a rule against making products based on R-rated movies.
Nevertheless, The Batman is currently scheduled for release in March 2022. The film stars Pattinson as the Dark Knight, with the Twilight and Harry Potter alum becoming the latest in a long line of live-action Batmen that also includes Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck. Pattinson is joined in the upcoming DC film by fellow Wizarding World star Kravitz, who steps into the role of Selina Kyle, who herself has previously been played in live-action by the likes of Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry (as Patience Phillips) and Anne Hathaway. Kravitz previously voiced the character of Catwoman in 2017's The Lego Batman Movie.
The Batman also stars Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as The Penguin, among many others. The next official trailer for the film is slated to debut at DC FanDome 2021 on Saturday, Oct. 16.
The Batman releases in theaters on March 4, 2022.
