Zoë Kravitz has nothing but praise for her co-star Robert Pattinson and his ability to deliver the perfect lead role performance in The Batman.

She believes that his former label as a teen idol makes him the perfect fit to overcome expectations. "He started out as this kind of teen pop sensation," said Kravitz, "And then I think we all kind of saw through his work that there was a lot more going on."

Kravitz credited his depth as an actor and how that helps bring the character to life. Pattinson has been adventurous in his roles, being involved in projects such as his recent black and white drama film The Lighthouse. She believes that that artistry lends itself to his work in The Batman. "We have the illusion of Bruce Wayne," Kravitz explained, "and then we have Batman in the shadows that has a lot more complicated things going on. So just in that, I think he's perfect for this role. He can relate in that way." She added, "And he looks good in the suit, man. He looks good in the suit. That's a good jaw line."

She then explained the difficulties of wearing the Bat-suit and how Pattinson had to work around the restrictions to deliver a performance that fans will love. Kravitz stated, "You're wearing the suit, and you can't see their eyes, and you can only move in a certain way. So you have to get really creative in terms of how can you portray a multidimensional character?" She concluded, "He's way up for the challenge and has really interesting ideas already. I think he's perfect, perfect casting."

Directed and co-written by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard. The film arrives in theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.
