After it was reported that Jonah Hill might be joining Matt Reeves' The Batman, rumors began to swirl about who the actor would play. However, while many guessed Hill would portray The Penguin, it appears he's actually in talks to play The Riddler.

According to Collider, an inside source provided word of Hill's possible casting as the puzzle-obsessed rogue. It has also been said that The Riddler plays a large role in The Batman's script.

The Batman is also reportedly considering Westworld's Jeffery Wright for Commissioner Jim Gordon, who was recently portrayed by J.K. Simmons in 2017's Justice League. Neither Hill nor Wright have been officially confirmed for The Batman.

Hill is well-known for his role in comedic films such as 2007's Superbad and 2010's Get Him to the Greek. He also recently starred in the Netflix show Maniac. However, The Riddler wouldn't be the first a DC character Hill has portrayed, as he provided the voice for Green Lantern in both 2017's The LEGO Batman Movie and 2019's The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
