Christian Bale -- who starred as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan's hugely popular Dark Knight film trilogy -- has offered his advice to Robert Pattinson, who has been cast as the new Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves' The Batman.
Bale and Matt Damon recently sat down with Variety their new film Ford v Ferrari. When asked about Pattinson's casting as Batman, Bale replied, "Oh Good. Good choice. He's interesting I'm sure he'll come up with something real interesting."
Christian Bale thinks Robert Pattinson is a "good choice" for #Batman. His advice? "Be able to pee by yourself" | #FORDvFERRARI - Variety Studio at #TIFF19 presented by @ATT pic.twitter.com/eiTlieVH5R— Variety (@Variety) September 8, 2019
As for the advice Bale has for Pattinson, it involves the challenges that come with wearing the iconic Batsuit. "Be able to pee by yourself," Bale said humorously. "You don't feel like much of a superhero when you can't take a piss by yourself."
Ford v Ferrari is about the duo of car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and sports car racer Ken Miles (Bale) as they set out to build and race a Ford car that can beat the Ferrari racing team. The film is directed by James Mangold, who previously helmed 2013's The Wolverine, 2017's Logan and 2017's The Greatest Showman. Ford v Ferrari premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and is set to release in theaters on Nov. 15.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. While casting is still underway, the film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
