At DC FanDome the first trailer for Matt Reeves' The Batman finally dropped, exciting fans all over the world and inspiring thousands of beautiful pieces of art. Caspar Wijngaard, who does the art for Marvel's Doctor Aphra series, posted his own rendition of Pattinson's Dark Knight.On Twitter, Wijngaard posted a gif showing off the Dark Knight in and out of his costume. The caption simply reads, "VENGEANCE #TheBatman." A follow-up tweet by Wijngaard thanked followers for their kind words on the piece.
The "vengeance" line in the caption comes from the trailer, which saw Robert Pattinson's Batman reciting part of the iconic "I am vengeance" speech from Batman: The Animated Series. The quote comes from the episode "Nothing to Fear," in which, Bruce says, "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!"
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin.
