A new Hot Wheels tie-in toy provides better look at the Batmobile appearing in Warner Bros. and DC Films' The Batman. As previously observed, this new Batmobile appears to be a modified muscle car, hybridizing Dodge Challenger and Chevelle SS components. It also appears to have taken cues from artist Neal Adams' 1970s Corvette-style Batmobile. The photos show off more of the bat-shaped rear-engine, red brake lights and a partial look at the simplified interior (which seems to show technology mounted to the dashboard). In addition to giving us a clearer picture of the vehicle's sleek hood and plated tires, the images also feature previously leaked Batmobile/The Batman box art.RELATED: The Batman: Official Merch Confirms the Riddler's Controversial Redesign

This version of the iconic DC comics vehicle differs considerably from the recent live-action Batmobiles. Both the Tumbler appearing in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy and Zack Synder's Justice League Batmobile opted for more militaristic looks. Director Matt Reeves unveiled the Dark Knight's redesigned car last year before showing off a more detailed look at DC FanDome. Reports from The Batman's U.K. shooting location have claimed that the film may feature several different versions of the Batmobile, with earlier set photos confirming the appearance of the Batcycle.

The Batman completed filming in March. The movie has been described as a noir-thriller take on Gotham, with Bruce Wayne entering his second year as the masked crimefighter. Due to the actions of a serial killer calling himself The Riddler, Bruce is forced to confront both the corruption present in his city and secrets about his parents. Bruce also must contend with the accomplished cat burglar Selina Kyle, with leaked footage confirming that the character is not yet Catwoman.

Recent reports also suggest that The Batman will be set on Earth-2, setting the film apart from the current DCEU and Ben Affleck's version of the character. Earth-2 was previously featured in the CW's Arrowverse and Stargirl TV series. A Gotham HBO Max series is also slated to cross over with The Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves and written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrel as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson. The film arrives in theaters March 4, 2022.
