While Barry Keoghan only appeared in one scene in The Batman, the actor recently had nothing but praise for director Matt Reeves and excitement at joining the Bat-verse.

"He's brilliant, man," Keoghan told Esqire Middle East about Reeves. "And Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark especially and together were amazing to me—really, really amazing to me. And, you know, getting to be part of the Batman universe is [a huge deal for me]. I'm a fanboy of these movies, and especially the Batman universe. So be to be in that world, I’m still pinching myself."

Keoghan further compared Reeves to his Eternals director Chloé Zhao, noting, "[Reeves is] a filmmaker I hugely admire as well. And to get to walk alongside him and see how he works, and seeing much like Chloé Zhao, how comfortable he makes you on set, and he gives you the time you need and what you want. I’m in such a blessed position."

The actor also gushed about his The Batman cast members, even if he didn't get to share the screen with them this time. "And to get to work alongside Colin Farrell again—I know I wasn't with Colin in that scene," he continued. "But that cast as well… Zoë [Kravitz], Rob [Pattinson], all of them."

One actor Keoghan did get to share a scene with was Paul Dano, who appears in the film as the Riddler. "Paul is— I'm a huge, huge fan of Paul," Keoghan said. "He's such a good dude as well. I've watched all of his movies, like Prisoners and stuff like that. People say that we're kind of alike as well, and I'm like, are we?"

When pressed on his role in The Batman and the possible influences that went into designing his character, Keoghan was more cautious with his words. "I can't really go into that," he confessed. "All I can say is it was a joy to work with Matt and Dylan Clark on that movie. That's all."

Keoghan also revealed that he filmed a second scene that also features Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight, but that it didn't make it into the film. He added, "I want to see that as well." Luckily for Keoghan, Reeves recently revealed he wants the scene to be released too. "It's a very cool scene," he said at the time. "And I'm sure we'll release the scene after the movie comes out because it's a really cool deleted scene."

The Batman is in theaters now.
