WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 10, "Common Ground," streaming now on Disney+.

In Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Clone Force 99 has faced financial problems since their escape from Kamino. They sought out Cid to find work to gain money and landed themselves even more in debt in the process. However, in "Common Ground," Omega is able to clear their debts singlehandedly through a Star Wars staple, Dejarik.

At the beginning of the episode, the team leaves Omega behind when going on a mission to Raxus due to their concern about taking her to an Imperial occupied world, especially after her ordeal with Cad Bane. At first, Cid and Omega clash while Omega is under Cid's care because the young girl is both sad about being left behind and worried about the team. Cid tells Omega to "stop pouting and do something about it," but the effect of this advice is delayed when Cid also calls Omega "useless" in the process. This only makes Omega even more upset, and Cid gives up, to the displeasure of her two regular customers.

A Dejarik match between Cid and her regular patrons turns Cid and Omega's relationship around, though, building grudging respect between the two. At first, Cid is losing the match, but Omega proves her skills at strategy and turns Cid's bad moves into a win. Seeing Omega's skills, Cid offers her a deal: Omega plays Dejarik against other opponents for money, and they split the proceeds. While Cid at first tries to claim the larger portion of the winnings, Omega instead argues that she deserves sixty percent.

So, while the rest of the team is successful in their mission, Omega is the one to actually clear their debt, further earning Cid's respect in the process. When Hunter tries to fuss at Omega for drawing a crowd, Cid takes Omega's side and explains that the team is now debt-free thanks to Omega's winnings. To make up for his initial reaction, Hunter challenges Omega to a game of Dejarik, and he promises that Omega will not be left behind again if she wins the game.

While this subplot is a nice way to show Omega's skills, it also provides implications about both her past and her future. Omega doesn't claim experience with Dejarik in particular, but she may have learned similar strategy games during her childhood on Kamino. Last week's episode confirmed Nala Se's affection for her, and Omega's skill might imply the Kaminoan played strategy games with her in the past.

Omega's Dejarik skills may have drawn some unwanted attention, but she has finally put the team in a position to actually make money, meaning they should be able to start thinking more about their future and be pickier about the jobs they take without the constant stress of their debt affecting their choices.

Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch stars Dee Bradley Baker, Michelle Ang, Andrew Kishino and Ming-Na Wen. The new episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
