The Avengers, The Walking Dead, Prometheus: March 12th Comic Reel

SXSW took place over the weekend and Joss Whedon had a huge panel where he spoke to everything from "Cabin in the Woods" to "The Avengers," revealing a whole plethora of material. Collider put together a round-up of the many relevant quotes during Whedon's SXSW panel, including the revelation of the final 2 hour 15 minute runtime of Earth's Mightiest Movie, the total lack of references to his own work within Marvel's comic landscape and teasing the alien race of Loki's army.

"I will say only this: It is not the Kree or the Skrulls," Whedon said. "Those two aliens are Marvel mainstays and have enormous backstories. They have a big life of their own that just could not be contained in a film where I already had seven movie stars... The Skrulls -- they can shape change. That's a whole thing. I've already got Loki. He's got magic. Once you got magic along with your Iron Man and your Black Widow -- it's a real juggling act."

The official "Avengers" Facebok page confirmed tickets for midnight screenings in select cities go on sale sometime today.

French fansite Les Toiles Heroiques has posted a download for the full French press kit for Marvel: The House of Ideas. Contained inside are concept images for "The Avengers" pulled by Comic Book Movie. Check them out below.

Finally, my favorite carbonated drink in the world, Dr. Pepper is doing a promotion for "The Avengers" with some limited edition cans. They've got a quick rider at the front of this official "Avengers" trailer. The rest of it is the same.

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring everybody. Opens May 4.

Did that actually just happen last night? Wow! Unfortunately, I can't reveal any of it due to folks who may not have seen it yet. So be aware of the [SPOILER] tags If you haven't seen last night's episode or care deeply about spoilers, please do not watch these next clips for the season finale of "The Walking Dead," "Beside the Dying Fire" airing next Sunday. The first TV spot is from CarLost.

And one from AMC -- this is the only official clip from the finale that will be released. Major Spoilers in this clip!

Robert Kirkman spoke with TV Line about the [SPOILER] death of Shane and his eventual transformation into a walker from last night's episode, mentioning the event would have occurred in the first season, but did not due to a lack of time.

"It was time to let Rick emerge and see how [SPOILER] Shane's death affected him and how it informed his decisions," Kirkman told TV Line. "And I think that when people see the last episode of this season -- and Season 3 -- and where Rick goes because of this, they'll see that this is all part of the larger plan."

The "Walking Dead" creator further mentioned the season finale could possibly bring the revelation of what Jenner whispered to Rick back in the season one finale. "Well, I can't confirm that," he said. "But what I can say is that [SPOILER] Shane turning after being stabbed definitely does inform Rick revealing what Jenner whispered, in the next episode."

Kirkman also spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, teasing the upcoming events of the season finale [SPOILER] and the army of zombies the survivors will have to outlast.

"Our finale is going to have a very cool opening scene that will reveal [SPOILER] what this herd is and where this herd came from and also kind of inform the audience a little bit on zombie behavior and how herds form and what they do. You'll get answers to all that kind of stuff in the very first minutes next week."

If that's not enough "Walking Dead" spoiler news, Comic Book Movie has posted a full potential spoiler-filled recap for next week's season finale.
