The Avengers, Last Man Standing, Daredevil: December 6th Comic Reel

Tom Hiddleston discusses the fan reaction to Loki with Superhero Hype. “It is quite surreal, because I never expected it to be so fervent, for the passion to be so intense and one always hopes one’s work is going to be appreciated,” he says. “But my God it’s a compliment that people have responded to what I did and everybody who’s written letters say such lovely things like ‘I really understood what Loki was going through and I understood his emotional predicament’ so it’s pretty great.” Meanwhile, the lads at Comic Book Movie have a description of an international trailer for the film. They warn that it’s from an unfamiliar tipster and it had to be Google-translated into English. Here’s a sample: “The trailer begins with Nick Fury addressing the idea that he had to collect powerful beings to face the battles that we could never win. This speech is interspersed with the Fury police, the army and the armed forces, and probably also agents of SHIELD, being destroyed by trying to stop Loki. This first part ends with the Fury saying ‘Gentlemen, it is now with you.'” Feel free to click though if you’d like to read more.

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

As we reported here at CBR, Benderspink has picked up the rights to Jonathan Ross and Tommy Lee Edward’s Image Comic “Turf.” Set during Prohibition, the story revolves around a “vampire clan arrives from Eastern Europe to prey on local gangsters. With only a handful of mobsters surviving, one wise guy forms an unlikely alliance with a stranded space alien in the all-out battle for New York.”

Release date: TBA

Joe Cornish talks with Matt’s Movie Reviews (via Comic Book Movie) about the recent draft he and co-writer Edgar Wright delivered to the studio. “We’re pretty excited about our draft. He’s a pretty cool character. You know, he’s not a hugely famous Marvel character but in a way that’s kind of cool because people don’t have too many pre-conceptions or expectations,” he says. “We feel that in quite a crowded market he is a very unique and very different kind of comic book hero. So it will be great if Ant Man got made at some point. We think we’ve written a pretty cool script.” I hope to see it realized some day, too.

Release date: TBA

Now that the cold has reached Southern California, I’m spending a little time with Ezio in the latest “Assassin’s Creed” game. I’m really enjoying it, but having now lost a couple of my towers to the Byzantines, I find I struggle with the tower defense mechanic. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of next year’s “Creed” title.
