The Spider-Man cameo rumors continue as Best Movies Ever says a "trusted source" confirms the brief appearance from the Webslinger in Earth's Mightiest Movie.
"This will be similar to how Wolverine made a quick cameo in 'X-Men: First Class' and Sony's going to make sure to promote their new Spider-Man movie any way they can," the source told Best Movies Ever. "Andrew's [Garfield] isn't a widely known actor so they want to get his face on everything, including 'The Avengers' even if it's for a couple seconds."
For the 3D-conscious, here's a quick look at the special edition 3D glasses (courtesy of Comic Book Movie) for "The Avengers," modeled after Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor. The glasses will set fans back $5 apiece.
Tom Hiddleston spoke briefly with The Belfast Telegraph about the upcoming film, praising Joss Whedon's work.
"Joss has an extraordinary taste, I think," Hiddleston told The Belfast Telegraph. "He's got such a brilliant and irreverent sense of humor but also an incredibly deep knowledge of the comic book genre and a respect for the traditions of how these things are handled."

Unconfirmed "Avengers" cameo aside, Andrew Garfield spoke with The Times of India about the challenges of stepping into the web of Peter Parker.
"I have tried to explore Peter Parker as an orphan," Garfield told The Times of India. "Orphans, I feel, are the strongest human beings on the planet. The amount of things they have to deal with in their lives, is amazing. I have tried to capture how Peter copes with the feelings of being an underdog, his confusions and his self-doubt. This, I hope, has brought, a certain empathy and sensitivity to his character that explains how it helps him become the hero that he eventually turns out to be."
A viral campaign featuring the movie's logo began this weekend. (You can see all the videos of the campaign over at Comic Book Movie). The logos direct fans to theuntoldstorybegins.com, where they have the opportunity to sign up for a special "Amazing Spider-Man" event in select cities worldwide.

DARK KNIGHT RISES
According to 100gf, a page on Reddit is attempting to organize a boycott of Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight Rises" in protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). The boycott is a part of Reddit users' ongoing protest of the two bills.
Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie has posted a one-sheet of merchandising information for "Dark Knight Rises."
Finally, Joseph Gordon-Levitt spoke with Sundance Channel about the film, confirming it would have themes related to the Occupy Wall Street movement.
"Yup! I know. You saw it, man," Gordon-Levitt told Sundance Channel. "The trailer isn't misleading and Nolan's not the type of guy to create a trailer that will sell you something other than what the movie is."

THE WALKING DEAD
It looks like The Governor will finally be getting his appearance on the critically-acclaimed television show. MovieWeb reports producers are looking at "Deadwood" actor John Hawks for the role. In an interview with actor Tom Savini, who has been campaigning for the role of The Governor, the actor mentioned the network would be going after Hawks for the part.
"When am I going to be on The Walking Dead? I should be the governor on that damn thing!" Savini told MovieWeb. "Listen, I have been campaigning to be the governor on that damn thing with Greg Nicotero for over a year. Everytime I see the graphic novel, and I see a picture of The Governor, who looks just like me, I send Greg a picture. I just won't give up. Last time I talked to him about it, when I was in Los Angeles, he said they were going after a name for that part. I said, 'Who?' He said John Hawkes."

IRON MAN 3
ComicBook.com has posted a rumor about the third installment of the "Iron Man" franchise -- Namor could make an appearance in the sequel, though the rumor is based on tenuous information and quite a bit of extrapolation. ComicBook.com cites the facilities at EUE/Screen Gems Studios, which has a 37,500 square foot sound stage including a special effects water tank, Atlantis Easter Eggs in "Iron Man 2" and the rumors of Leviathan showing up in "The Avengers" as the lead-in to Namor's debut in the Marvel Movieverse.
The Screen Actors Guild awards were this weekend and there were no major upsets. Even Game of Thrones got some love for "Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series."
