Filming for Warner Bros.' "Wonder Woman" movie is well underway, as evidenced by a handful of new photos from set. The snapshots -- which show an army of Amazons standing before WWI soldiers on a beach -- surfaced on a Kitana Fan Facebook Page.
The three photos reveal an Amazon army standing in front of a large green screen on a beach; each Amazon is armored to the teeth and wields a sword. Though there are over 30 Amazons pictured in the one snapshot, the Facebook page specifically points out actress Samantha Jo, who is best known for her role as Kitana in "Mortal Kombat Legacy." According to IMDb, she will play Euboea -- one of Diana's close friends -- in the film.
In the comics, Euboea was a high-powered general despite being a rather minor character. Like the other Amazons, she possesses superhuman strength and immortality, though she can be killed in battle. It is unclear how large a role she'll play in the film.
Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Lucy Davis, Said Taghmaoui and more, "Wonder Woman" arrives in theaters on June 23, 2017.
