As one of the most popular Marvel heroes ever, Spider-Man has had all sorts of wild and incredible stories told over the years. While some have definitely been better than others, there’s no denying that one of the strongest Spider-Man runs ever has been Brian Michael Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man run.

Though the series has had several different names over the years, Bendis crafted a truly fantastic story first with another version of Peter Parker, and later with Miles Morales. With the introduction of the younger hero though, fans have constantly compared Miles to Peter. Even with Miles growing into his own over the years, it is still fun to debate as to who would win in a fight between the two. To offer our own input, here is our list of factors to consider in the Amazing Spider-Man vs Ultimate Spider-Man.

11 Enemy Power Level (Tie)

Peter Parker and Miles Morales as the Ultimate Spider-Men

Since becoming the main Spider-Man of his universe, Miles has taken on some pretty powerful opponents. Likewise, he has also taken down several foes that Peter himself has struggled against. While it can be argued that Peter has taken down far more powerful opponents than Miles, Peter has also been around for far longer than Miles has, giving him certain advantages.

In regards to similar opponents such as Venom, Green Goblin, and Black Cat however, Miles has proven to be just as capable as Peter. Because of this, it is safe to assume that Miles also has the potential to take down much more powerful threats as well, resulting in a tie for round one.

10 Main Inherent Power (Miles)

While the two Spider-people have very similar abilities, there are actually several differences between them. In the Ultimate universe, Peter and Miles were bitten by two completely different spiders. With the success of everything that happened to Peter, Norman Osborne managed to successfully replicate a similar spider that eventually found its way to Miles.

Thanks to some differences in experimentation as well as the spiders themselves, Miles's DNA was rewritten for more potential than Peter’s. Though this doesn’t make Miles stronger or better in terms of being Spider-Man, he definitely isn’t capable of the exact same thing as his predecessor.

9 Main External Power (Miles)

Due to the differences in the spiders that bit them, Miles has the added external ability to turn invisible. Furthermore, the hero can also inflict a “venom blast” upon his opponents that petrify almost anyone.

Because of the more unique nature of his powers, Miles has had a much different journey becoming Spider-Man than Peter has, offering some humorous, yet also frightening experiences for the young man. On top of all that, however, Miles still has the ability to cling to walls, a spider-sense of his own, and the proportionate strength of a spider as well, arguably making him far more powerful than Peter Parker himself.

8 Experience (Peter)

There’s no doubt that Peter has far more experience than Miles has gotten. Not only is Peter far older than Miles, but he is also insanely popular, thus granting him several long-running series at the same time.

While Miles has proven to be quite popular as well, he has really only had one solo series at a time, making Peter the far more seasoned character of the two. Over the years, Peter has taken on all sorts of threats, including gods and beings from other dimensions. Though Miles is likely to get to that point eventually, Peter’s current experience alone definitely gives him the upper hand over Miles in this regard.

7 Personality (Tie)

Sometimes, a person’s ego can bring about their downfall. Thankfully though, both Peter and Miles have some of the strongest and most pure personalities in the entire Marvel universe. Since the two both have a strong understanding of “with great power, comes great responsibility,” they have both been able to truly shine in their duties as Spider-Man.

Though some fans could argue that one’s personality would give favor over the other’s, the differences in their personalities really don’t give one an advantage over the other in combat. Because of this, there is no way to really determine a true winner for this category.

6 Allies (Peter)

Spider-Man in the Avengers

Though both parties have incredibly powerful allies, Peter definitely has the more powerful ones on his side. Thanks to his time as an Avenger as well as his close ties to the Fantastic Four, Peter has some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters at his back and ready to support him.

While Miles still has the Champions to rely on, they are definitely a much smaller and not as powerful team of superheroes. Though any group mentioned would likely have a problem fighting one another, Peter’s allies alone would definitely be able to take down Miles and his allies.

5 Equipment (Peter)

Granted, while both Peter and Miles are both geniuses in their own right, Peter easily has the more scientific mind between the two of them. With his mind as well, Peter has developed all sorts of advanced technology in his time as Spider-Man, including his famous web-shooters.

Between those, his spider-tracers, and any number of spider-themed gadgets you can think of, Peter has done a lot for the scientific community. For a time, he even managed to run his own technology-based company, but that also involved a lot of other complicated things with Doc Ock. Though Miles himself is far from stupid, Peter easily has the upper hand in this regard.

4 Strength (Peter)

Miles and Peter have both demonstrated some incredible feats of strength over the years. However, Marvel has put a bit more emphasis on Peter’s own strength over Miles. Not only has Peter been proven to be able to lift several other Marvel heroes, but he famously lifted the weight of an entire collapsed building off of himself.

Furthermore, Peter has accomplished all sorts of other things over the years relying on his strength alone. While it may not be his most prominent feature as Spider-Man, it has definitely come in handy when he has needed it.

3 Durability (Peter)

Doc Ock as Superior Spider-Man

While Peter wins once again thanks to his experience, he really has taken far more gruesome beatings than Miles has over the years. In fact, Peter has even “died” on more than one occasion, still managing to make the ultimate comeback over time.

Be it a mind swap with Doctor Octopus or a horrific encounter with Morlun, Peter has managed to come back from some truly devastating losses. Even though Miles has bounced back from some defeats as well, his character hasn’t been dealt with nearly as much devastation as Peter has.

2 Biggest Feat (Peter)

Cosmic Spider-man

Of course, Peter once again wins out in terms of the biggest feat. Thanks to his experience as a character, almost any number of accomplishments have him demonstrating more powerful actions than Miles. Whether it’s lifting the weight of a building, coming back from the dead, or even achieving godhood, Peter has definitely done far more as a character than Miles has.

However, Miles definitely has the chance to catch up and has also proven that he is far from weak. Perhaps, with more time, the young hero will even come to surpass Peter. For the time being, though, Peter has definitely accomplished more throughout his publication history.

1 Winner (Peter)

While Peter definitely has the upper hand thanks to time, the experience he has garnered over the years would definitely allow him to beat Miles in a fight. Though Miles does actually have an advantage in terms of raw power, he still has a lot to learn before he can measure up to the likes of Peter.

Granted, Miles has definitely come a long way since making his debut, but he has yet to achieve many of the things that Peter alone has. Hopefully, as the popularity of his character continues to grow, Miles will get his chance to outshine his predecessor. For now, Peter Parker remains the undisputed champion between the two.
