This year, I decided to do something different for Fred Van Lente Day, I'm going to review one issue of Ivar, Timewalker a day, leading up to Fred Van Lente Day!

We continue with Ivar, Timewalker #10, by Fred Van Lente, Pere Perez and Andrew Dalhouse...

You really have to be impressed with the ability of Van Lente, Perez and Dalhouse to create the little world that they put together in this one issue. In just a single issue, we learn all about this alternate reality where the comet that wiped out the dinosaurs never hit and instead dinosaurs rule the world, but they've evolved and walk and talk and basically live lifes similar to that of the mammals on Earth.

Ivar and a herbivore dinosaur find themselves forced to fight each other to the death as Neela is once again forced to pretend to be her evil future self (now generally referred to as "The Mistress"), who had visited this world in the past.

Perez and Dalhouse do an astonishing job designing the world to both make sense AND to look cool while making sense...

Van Lente once again does his standard "make minor characters cool" routine, as he has quickly made the herbivore dinosaur an interesting personality.
