In less than two weeks, The 100 returns for its seventh and final season on The CW, and the network has now released the trailer for the series' closing salvo.

Opening with Clarke Griffin mourning the loss of her mother Abby from the previous season, the last remnants of humanity on the faraway world of Sanctum are seen descending into chaotic violence as Season 6's overarching antagonist Russell Lightbourne cruelly looks on.

The trailer also explores the mysterious temporal anomaly, with the characters realizing the strange phenomenon on Sanctum is actually a wormhole through time and space. Though the characters stand at odds with one another, the anomaly may present the key for bringing peace to civilization or eradicating it entirely.

The final season of The 100 will run for 16 episodes, aptly bringing the final episode count of the series to 100. Production on Season 7 was completed ahead of the coronavirus (COVID-19), which has caused delays on a number of other CW shows.
