With the final season of The CW’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama The 100 arriving in less than two weeks, a synopsis for the first episode has been released.

The plot will likely pick up from where Season 6 left off, with Clarke Griffin and her allies defeating the Prime leaders of Sanctum and beginning the process of un-brainwashing their followers. More details will also be revealed about the Anomaly, a temporal phenomenon on the planet Sanctum with unknown properties. In Season 6’s finale, the Anomaly was finally opened, only for Octavia Blake to get pulled into it by a grown-up version of Commander Diyoza’s daughter Hope.

The CW's official synopsis is below:

SEASON PREMIERE – Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and her friends attempt to rebuild Sanctum as a new threat rises in the woods. Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropuolos, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles, Shannon Kook, JR Bourne, Shelby Flannery and Chuku Modu also star. Ed Fraiman directed the episode written by Jason Rothenberg (#701). Original airdate 5/20/2020.

The 100, loosely adapted from Kass Morgan’s book series, follows a group of delinquent survivors who are returned to Earth 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse. Once on the ground, they discover a number of Grounder civilizations who rose in wake of Earth’s destruction, forcing the youths to make ever-increasing moral choices to ensure their survival. After Season 5, which saw the destruction of Earth’s last hospitable piece of land, the survivors of multiple factions both on and off-world went into cryosleep on a journey toward Eligius III, a supposedly welcoming world. Upon landing, they found the descendants of the original landing party, now a microstate revolving around the worship of Sanctum’s leaders, the Primes.

The 100 stars Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropuolos, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles, Shannon Kook, JR Bourne, Shelby Flannery and Chuku Modu. Season 7 premieres May 20 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
