After seven seasons of The 100, fans will finally get to see the devastating events that started the series in the backdoor pilot for the upcoming spinoff.

The CW has released a promo for the eighth episode of the final season of The 100, titled "Anaconda," that shows Bill Cadogan, the founder of the Second Dawn cult, telling a confused Clarke that his appearance in their time is a "very long story." It then cuts to sheer chaos on Earth as buildings shake and missiles are deployed. Becca Franco, the scientist that created the visually similar AI A.L.I.E., tells Bill she has to shut it down, but it looks as if it’s too late.

In the previous episode, Clarke arrives in Bardo and learns about Bellamy's death. Adding to the drama, Bill is awakened from cryo-sleep by Anders, the leader of the Disciples, and asks him if the war has begun, to which Anders responds, "No. But we have the key."

As the final season of The 100 draws to a close, this upcoming episode previews a continued life for the series set in the past, after the destruction of the Earth. It will take place on the ground as a band of survivors tries to create a better world from the scorched remains.
