The Teen Titans have been one of the most popular superhero teams in DC Comics for a good 50 years now. What started as just a teaming of sidekicks of major DC heroes became one of the most ground-breaking comics for DC in the 80s. Marv Wolfman and George Perez turned them into the closest thing DC ever had to Marvel Comics characters.

Since then, the team has undergone many changes, made appearances in cartoons, movies, and live-action TV shows. the comic books have delivered shocking changes through the years as well, to both the line-ups and even names of the teams. Here is a look at some of the best Teen Titans rosters ever.

10 TEEN TITANS GO

Teen Titans Go feature

Let's start with a cartoon Teen Titans roster. While many fans of the Teen Titans animated series hated Teen Titans Go before they ever watched an episode, the series was actually one of the funniest cartoons on television for a long time. The roster was the same as the roster from the animated cartoon, but goofier.

This included Dick Drayson's Robin, a bubbly Starfire, a gloomy Raven, and the hilarious duo of Beast Boy and Cyborg. The fact that Cyborg can shoot meatballs out of his chest means this team deserves a spot. What actually gives them this spot is that they are a real team that works together better than almost any other version of the Teen Titans.

9 DC UNIVERSE TITANS

Created in 2018 for the DC Universe streaming service, Titans started as a polarizing comic book series. It seemed that nothing was right about the show, as Robin was ultra-violent and the series seemed to be more about moody angst-ridden teens than the superhero team that fans fell in love with.

However, fans who waited it out were rewarded with a great series about a group of youngsters meeting and helping each other become better people. The line-up included Dick Grayson's Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Hawk, and Dove. Also making appearances were Jason Todd and Doom Patrol.

8 DC REBIRTH TEEN TITANS

Teen Titans Rebirth Team

DC Rebirth took the ideas of the Teen Titans from the New 52, re-imagined them, spread them across the world, and let them find each other and come back together again. It is still a little alarming to see how New 52 treated the once fun-loving Beast Boy, but this team has some serious mojo.

The members of the DC Rebirth Teen Titans are all kidnapped by Damian Wayne's Robin, who takes on the goal of training the new version of the Teen Titans. These members include Kid Flash (Wallace West), Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire.

7 DC REBIRTH OLDER TITANS

Titans Rebirth

While Damian Wayne's Rebirth Teen Titans were formed to help him battle Ra's al Ghul and the Demon's Hand, a second team of Titans also formed at the same time. This was an adult version of the team and was mostly original members rejoining in their new personas.

The leader here, unsurprisingly, was Nightwing, since he was one of the original founding members. They reformed after Wally West returned from the Speed Force. Also joining them were Arsenal (Speedy), Tempest (Aqualad), and Donna Troy (Wonder Girl). They were older and wiser, no longer teenagers.

6 NEW 52 TEEN TITANS

When the New 52 began, the DC Universe rebooted most of their heroes and brought them up to date with the present day. This included the Teen Titans. This re-imagining eliminated many of the beloved members of the Titans fans loved from comics and TV and formed a new version of the team.

Tim Drake was Red Robin in this version, and he set out to form the Teen Titans to help him battle N.O.W.H.E.R.E. He recruited Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), Bunker, Solstice, and Kid Flash (Bar Torr). Sooner, Superboy was sent after them by N.O.W.H.E.R.E., but he joined them and the team became great.

5 THE 90S TITANS

The 1990s were an exciting time for the Teen Titans. This was after the acclaimed Marv Wolfman and George Perez run but before the creation of Young Justice. The run here started in 1998, with a team that reunited many of the heroes from the Wolfman and Perez run with some notable additions.

The team included Nightwing, Donna Troy, Tempest, Flash, Arsenal, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and later Damage and Jesse Quick. There were only 50 issues here, but they were great, and it was nice to see Nightwing back in action again. This Teen Titans run lasted until Graduation Day.

4 DC ANIMATED MOVIES TEEN TITANS

While Marvel has ruled the world at the movie theaters, DC is the king of the animated movie universe. The original Justice League movies gave way eventually to Teen Titans films, starting with Justice League vs. Teen Titans. The line-up in these movies was excellent, with very powerful heroes that held their own against the Justice League and had great chemistry.

This included Starfire as the adult leader over a team that included Damian Wayne as Robin, Raven, Blue Beetle, and Beast Boy. Dick Grayson's Nightwing is also there to help when needed. The second movie, The Judas Contract brought in Terra and told her story, and it ended with the introduction of Wonder Girl for a future film.

3 POST-GRADUATION DAY

Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day was a crossover event that led to the dissolution of both teams. This ended with the return of the Outsiders and a new Teen Titans team, and that is where this Teen Titans roster picks up. Before this, the Titans was just Young Justice. Graduation Day changed everything, as Lilith and Donna Troy died and the team was gone.

The post-Graduation Day roster was formed by Cyborg and Starfire, who begins to train a new generation of heroes. These kids include Impulse (Bart Allen), Robin (Tim Drake), Superboy (Kon-El), and Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark). With Beast Boy in tow, the Teen Titans were back and as fun as ever.

2 ORIGINAL TEEN TITANS

The Teen Titans were created in 1964 when Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad decided to create a new team and were soon joined by Wonder Girl and Speedy. This created the original core roster of heroes where they then battled various villains, giving kids who loved the heroes a younger team to follow.

In the 70s, there were a few changes, although the core team stayed pretty much in place. A few new members joined up with them, including Bumblebee, Lilith Clay and The Joker's Daughter. It was a great new direction for superheroes and eventually led to the greatest Teen Titans roster in history.

1 NEW TEEN TITANS

In 1980, Marv Wolfman and George Perez created the best Teen Titans roster in history when they started The New Teen Titans. Dick Grayson returned as Robin, although he would soon give up that persona and become Nightwing. Other original members such as Kid Flash (Wally West) and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) also returned.

The newcomers made this roster great and created the core members for the next four decades. They included the alien princess Starfire, the demonic Raven, Cyborg, and a character called Changeling (who most people know as Beast Boy). Add in future members like Terra and Jericho, and this was the best line-up of any superteam in DC Comics in the 80s.
