Netflix has ordered a That '70s Show spinoff, titled That '90s Show.

That '90s Show comes from creators of the original Fox sitcom, Bonnie and Terry Turner. So far, only two of the original cast members have already been confirmed to return for the series: Kurtwood Smith, who played Red Forman, and Debra Jo Rupp, who played Kitty Forman in That '70s Show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers are hopeful that other members from the original cast will make guest appearances in this new series.

Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of the spinoff series with Gregg Mettler serving as showrunner. The original show's cast included Topher Grace as Eric Forman, Mila Kunis as Jackie Burkhart, Ashton Kutcher as Michael Kelso, Laura Prepon as Donna Pinciotti and Wilmer Valderrama as Fez, who all went on to enjoy successful acting careers. Danny Masterson, who portrayed Steven Hyde, is set to stand trial for three rape charges in Los Angeles, CA.

That '90s Show will take place in 1995 and will follow Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric and Donna, over the course of a summer as she visits her grandparents in Point Place, Wisconsin. The original series aired in 1998 and ran for eight seasons on Fox, chronicling the misadventures of a group of teenagers in the '70s. All eight seasons of the series were available to stream on Netflix, but they exited the streaming platform in 2020.

The eighth and final season of That '70s Show aired in 2005, though it is notoriously hated amongst fans of the series. The series lost two of its main leads, Grace and Kutcher, at the start of the season as the two actors left to pursue careers in film. Grace's Eric Forman was written out of the show at the end of Season 7 as the character left Wisconsin to teach in Africa, but Kutcher's Kelso appeared in the first four episodes of Season 8 before the character departed for Chicago. However, the finale was well received as it saw the entire cast reunited on New Year's Eve, 1979.
