Thanos' adopted daughter Gamora previously killed him back in 2018’s Infinity Wars event. This brutal act highlighted the complicated relationship the cosmic villain has with his various children.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were first introduced to the Children of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. However, they are known in the comics as Thanos' savage Black Order. Thanos had previously assembled a powerful army from the various alien races he had conquered over the years that were the original Children of Thanos.

Deadly warriors who craved battle and glory also joined Thanos for the chance to cause mayhem and destruction. They were also known as Thanos-Thralls and included a powerful armada of ships. Alien beings like the Blood Brothers and the Super-Skrull were all Children of Thanos at one point as well.

When the "Mad Titan" wielded the incredible power of the Infinity Gauntlet, he sought to finally win the affection of Death. However, when he was still rebuked even after killing half the population of the universe, he decided on a new course of action.

He used the Infinity Gauntlet to create a new mate for himself named Terraxia. She was incredibly strong and managed to kill Avengers like Iron Man and Spider-Man in one of their cosmic battles. However, Thanos hadn’t accounted for every scenario when he created Terraxia. She suffocated in deep space after they left the protective sanctuary that Thanos had created.

8 Black Dwarf (Cul Obsidian) Is The Black Order’s Resident Powerhouse

The deadly alien powerhouse of the Black Order is Black Dwarf. He is the brother of the Black Order’s leader, Corvus Glaive. Black Dwarf is nearly indestructible and incredibly strong. He also wields a two-headed axe that can carve through almost any metal known to humankind. Black Dwarf was sent in alone to take down Wakanda, which showed Thanos’ belief in his strength.

Fans of the live-action Infinity War might know the character better as Cul Obsidian, which was the original name for the Black Order in the comics. It was a bit confusing for fans of the evil group, but it didn’t affect his powerful impact on the Avengers. Black Dwarf might be one of Thanos’ strongest children, but he has failed the cosmic conquerer quite a few times.

7 Ebony Maw Is A Strategic Telekinetic With A Supernaturally Persuasive Voice

One of the most ruthless Black Order members is Ebony Maw. The powerful telekinetic formerly served Thanos as a member of his Butcher Squadron before he joined the Black Order. While Ebony Maw’s telekinetic abilities made him a deadly threat to any of his foes, it wasn’t his most dangerous ability.

Ebony Maw also has a supernaturally persuasive voice that allows him to take control of even the strongest of wills. When Thanos arrived on Earth during the Infinity event, Ebony Maw took control of Dr. Strange with his voice. He managed to take out one of the Avengers’ most dangerous players while also using his magic to help stall their efforts to stop Thanos.

6 Corvus Glaive Was The Right-Hand Of Thanos And Leader Of The Black Order

Fans were first introduced to Corvus Glaive as he arrived on one of Thanos’ planets to collect tribute for his master. Corvus Glaive was the right-hand of Thanos who not only commanded his armies but also led the Black Order. His brother and wife served alongside him and stayed loyal to Glaive even when he eventually turned on Thanos.

Corvus Glaive was a master strategist and skilled warrior who wielded a powerful glaive like his namesake. His weapon was capable of splitting atoms and cutting through almost anything, including some of Marvel's strongest superheroes like Thor and Hyperion. Corvus Glaive is also practically immortal, as he can regenerate as long as his glaive remains unbroken.

5 Proxima Midnight Is A Warrior With A Spear Made Of Distorted Space-Time

The deadliest member of the Black Order and one of the most powerful Children of Thanos is the dangerous warrior known as Proxima Midnight. She is the wife of Corvus Glaive and another leader among the Black Order. She was also a member of the Butcher Squadron alongside Ebony Maw.

She is nigh-invulnerable and possesses incredible strength that challenged even the most powerful Avengers. She also wields a powerful staff forged by Thanos. He used a star that was stuck in distorted space-time to craft the spear, which gave it incredible strength and abilities. It could strike with the power of a sun or increase its gravity like a black hole when thrown.

4 Nebula Is A Cyborg And Another Dangerous Adopted Daughter Of Thanos

When the character first appeared, Nebula’s actual connection to Thanos wasn’t entirely clear. Nebula was a Luphomoid whose possible father Zorr the Conqueror also claimed to be the son of Thanos. That made her the potential granddaughter of Thanos, though more recent takes on the character have simplified her origins as an adopted daughter of Marvel's "Mad Titan."

Nebula has a number of cybernetic enhancements and prosthetics that increase her strength and durability. She was also trained alongside her adopted sister Gamora by Thanos, making her even deadlier. Nebula turned against her father to follow her own evil plans, which even included the destruction of the planet Xandar in the comics.

Gamora is one of Marvel's best swordfighters thanks to her training and genetic enhancements that increased her strength.

Thanos has died a few times over the years in his drive to court Death. Avengers: Celestial Quest revealed that during one of his deaths, his essence merged with Death to create a deadly new being. Known simply as Rot, it was a dark featureless void that destroyed everything it touched. It was both alive and dead at the same time, so Death had no control over it.

Rot began growing and consuming anything it touched or enveloped. A powerful roster of Avengers assisted Mantis and her Cotati son Quoi when they were nearly killed by Rot. Death and a reborn Thanos worked together inside Rot to separate themselves by going against their natures and serving life. They were able to destroy Rot, and everything it killed returned to life.

The Infinity event revealed that Thanos has been on a galactic mission to rid the universe of his offspring. He hoped to end the threat of his potential heirs before they were old enough to challenge him. He managed to wipe out almost every one of his offspring, though a powerful member of the Inhumans named Thane managed to escape his wrath.

Thane gained incredible abilities after exposure to the transformative Terrigen Mists used by the Inhumans. He gained a unique power over death and eternal life. His one arm carried a devastating death touch while his other was able to lock his enemies in eternal life. Thane even briefly bonded with the Phoenix Force to fight his father which further proved his incredible power.
