Thanos uses various Infinity Stones throughout Avengers: Infinity War in his pursuit of wiping out half the universe. Once he accomplishes that mission, the Infinity Gauntlet -- in which he's placed all of the stones -- gets wrecked. However, the end of Infinity War established that the Mad Titan is still able to use the stones, as he used the Space Stone to escape following the snap, leaving some fans to wonder just how much control Thanos still had over the six powerful objects.

As the Infinity Gauntlet is only necessary to using all of the stones together, Thanos still seems to have control of the stones individually. However, some fans have wondered if the Mad Titan will be able to tap into the power of all the stones at once again, despite the Infinity Gauntlet getting damaged.

The trailer for Avengers: Endgame made it clear that the gauntlet was still damaged. However, it's not just the Infinity Gauntlet that's damaged. Joe and Anthony Russo have already said that Thanos has been damaged by using the gauntlet, though it's not clear if they mean physically or emotionally. It's likely that the damage done to the gauntlet and Thanos will be important to the plot of the upcoming Endgame, especially considering that it doesn't seem possible at this time to make another Infinity Gauntlet.
