In an early version of the script for Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos and Drax almost had a one-on-one showdown. Now, two deleted keyframes from the film hint at what that battle could have looked like.

Concept artist Rodney Fuentebella shared two images on his Instagram. The first image shows the Mad Titan towering over Drax. "Here is a key frame illustration I did for Avengers Infinity War," Fuentebella wrote. "This was an early keyframe from an early script with Thanos and Drax about to battle! Enjoy!"

Fuentebella shared a follow-up image showing Drax taking the brunt of a blow from Thanos. "Another keyframe illustration I did for Avengers Infinity War," he wrote. "Things change so much from when I did this painting until the final cut. Such a pleasure working on this movie! Enjoy!"

Drax was part of the battle against Thanos on Titan. Although the character was turned to dust following Thanos' snap, actor Dave Bautista has confirmed he will return for Avengers 4 and the delayed third installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
