Thanos creator Jim Starlin has lambasted an ad for United States President, Donald Trump, and his reelection campaign, describing it as "sick."The Trump War room tweeted a video after House Democrats introduced two articles of impeachment against President Trump. The clip shows Trump's face on Thanos' body from a scene in Avengers: Endgame, snapping away House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders. The video was captioned, "House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they want. President Trump's re-election is inevitable," and it didn't sit well with Starlin.RELATED: Donald Trump's Use of Dark Knight Rises Score Was Unauthorized, Says WB"After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer," Starlin told The Hollywood Reporter. "How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end."

Starlin created the character for Marvel's cosmic realm in the '70s and his Infinity Gauntlet story influenced Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which dealt with the Mad Titan eliminating half of all life in the galaxy.

It's worth noting this Endgame snap in particular proved unsuccessful, occurring right before the tyrant's downfall at the hands of the film's heroes. So, it appears the campaign's content creators aren't aware of that bit of context, adding a layer of unintentional irony to this scene's usage in an advertisement.
