According to the Hollywood Reporter, Thanos creator Jim Starlin will pen the script for a television adaptation of his comic book series "Dreadstar."

Published through Marvel's imprint Epic Comics, "Dreadstar" follows a character named Vanth Dreadstar. The only remnant left of the Milky Way, Dreadstar and his crew strive to end the war between two huge evil empires. He faces the Lord Papal's Church of The Instrumentality and King Gregzor's the Monarchy.

"Dreadstar" was originally optioned as a film by Illuminati Entertainment. Now, Starlin will work alongside Universal Cable Productions and Benderspink to create the series, which currently has no network attached.

"It has taken some time, but I know I've put my trust in the right team and I'm excited to collaborate with Universal Cable Productions and Benderspink to bring Dreadstar's unique brand of chaos to television," Starlin said.

Drax the Destroyer and Gamora from "Guardians of the Galaxy" are among Starlin's other creations for Marvel Comics.
