In November of last year, Legendary Pictures announced it would be rebooting the popular 1970s horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Now, it appears the film has found its directors in Ryan and Andy Tohill.

Variety not only reports news of the Tohill brothers joining The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but also explains Legendary Pictures may be looking to launch entire franchise around the reboot. A pair of directors from Northern Ireland, the Tohill brothers' first film, The Dig, released in 2018.

One of the producers on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot is Fede Alvarez, who is known for directing 2013's Evil Dead remake as well as 2016's Don't Breathe. When speaking about the Texas Chainsaw reboot, Alvarez said, "The [Tohills’] vision is exactly what the fans want. It’s violent, exciting, and so depraved that it will stay with you forever." Rodolfo Sayagues produce alongside Alvarez.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre premiered on October 11, 1974 and has since been revered as a horror film classic. Several prequels, reboots and sequels have followed the first film, including Lionsgate's own Texas Chainsaw 3D and Leatherface.
