Actor Tessa Thompson let fans know she's with her fellow Thor: Love and Thunder cast members on location in Australia, as filming begins on the fourth film in the franchise.

Thompson posted a photo on Instagram of her director's chair, which is labeled "VALKYRIE," with a simple caption: "She's back!" Thompson posted a similar image when she started work on the third Thor film, 2017's Thor: Ragnarok.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) safety protocols require actors and crew entering Australia to quarantine for two weeks before beginning work.

Thompson debuted as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, which ended with Asgard being destroyed and Thor and Valkyrie leading the world's survivors to a new home on Earth. She reprised the role in Avengers: Endgame, which revealed Valkyrie has become leader of the vagabond Asgardians in the five years following the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

Thompson offered a few cryptic glimpses at what will transpire in Love and Thunder when it picks up the story, saying, "Yeah. I can tease that she’s definitely King of New Asgard when we find her. And as was the case in the last four, I would say that she's a part of an adventure that involved Thor, in the sense that it's called Thor: Love and Thunder. And I'd say there's some cool stuff going on. We have some new characters; we have some folks potentially from other pockets of the [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. And then we have some folks, maybe, that we’ve seen before."

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
