Over a month into production, Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he’s in the middle of filming the new Terminator revival.
With the Climate Action Pacific Partnership (CAPP) conference being held in Suva, Fiji this weekend, the former Governor of California was unable to attend but posted a video online expressing his support to CAPP for climate change advocacy. The actor cites his current commitments to filming the upcoming Terminator in Mexico as the cause of his absence.
“Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama, I want to congratulate you for this great event and I’m sorry I cannot be with you but I’m currently shooting Terminator 6 and so this is why I’m not there,” explained Schwarzenegger in the video to the Prime Minister of Fiji. “Otherwise, I would have been there because this is a terrific event and you have shown terrific leadership.”
While serving as Governor of California, Schwarzenegger worked towards reducing the state’s impact on climate change and continues to be a proponent for climate change advocacy out of office.
In the meantime, the Terminator revival, which ignores all but the first two Terminator films directed by James Cameron, began filming in Mexico last month. Returning star Linda Hamilton has already been seen on set reprising her iconic role as Sarah Connor along with newcomer Mackenzie Davis but Schwarzenegger’s presence on set has not yet been leaked. With this online video, it looks like the original T-800 will indeed be back.
Directed by Tim Miller, the untitled Terminator revival stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, and Diego Boneta. It is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2019.
