Terminator: Genesis wants J.K. Simmons to join in on the robopocalypse. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor who played J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films is in negotiations to play an alcoholic detective who's been trying to solve a case involving robots and Sarah Connor since 1984.

If he does sign on for the project, Simmons will join a cast that includes Emilia Clarke as Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Jai Courtney as time traveler Reese and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a version of the title killer robot.

Schwarzenegger recently praised the script that Alan Young will direct, saying, "The script is fantastic, so I’m really looking forward to this film." Terminator: Genesis opens July 1, 2015.
