Terminator star Linda Hamilton opened up about why she returned to the franchise for Dark Fate. The new film will see the actor reunite with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the roles that made them both famous.

As for what it was like jumping back in after all these decades, Hamilton told Entertainment Weekly, "There is a real gift in that so much time has passed, and that gives me so much more to explore with the character. Sarah Connor is the same person but I wanted to see how the difference in events have changed her and shaped her and send her forward. There was meat there."

"I didn’t want to just recycle the same idea. It’s a woman who has a different mission, a different story, so I wanted to see what we could do with that," she added."

Terminator: Dark Fate will come to Hall H on Thursday, July 18, with Hamilton, Schwarzenegger and other cast members joining director Tim Miller for a panel focusing on the new movie and the original stars of the franchise.

Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film opens Nov. 1.
