Comic-Con International in San Diego's Terminator: Dark Fate panel revealed tons of new information about the movie, including its rating. The sixth Terminator film will be R-rated, according to director Tim Miller.

"It's officially R-rated, and it's because the fans kind of demanded it," Miller stated. "The DNA of Terminator is an R-rated fucking movie," he continued, "to not do it R felt disingenuous to the source material. I got so many takes of Linda [Hamilton] saying 'fuck.' It's amazing."

The first two Terminator movies were rated R, mainly for their strong and bloody violence, with the following three installments receiving a lower age rating. Dark Fate is returning to the roots of the series in many other ways as well.

It is the first sequel since Terminator 2: Judgement Day to have franchise creator James Cameron involved. Cameron considers Dark Fate to be a direct sequel to the first two movies, with the others happening in an alternate timeline. Actress Linda Hamilton is also making a return to the franchise after 28 years.

Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film opens November 1.
